Snow covered dreamline

Blue Horizon Mural
Artist: Baiju
Medium: Acrylic on interior wall
Location: Private residence, bedroom feature wall
Size: Approximately 8 feet by 14 feet

Description:
This wall mural captures a vast, serene mountain range painted in layers of cool blue, soft grey, and snowy white. Inspired by Himalayan landscapes, the composition uses overlapping ridgelines and valleys to create a deep, meditative sense of distance and calm. The brushwork is gentle and sweeping, giving the illusion of mist, altitude, and space.

Process and theme:
The process began with light sketching and a rough underpainting to map out the major ridges and forms. Working gradually from the background to the foreground, the mountain layers were built up using tonal shifts in blue — from icy pale shades to rich ultramarine. Touches of white were dry-brushed to suggest snow caps and atmospheric depth. A few subtle pine trees and distant birds were added to bring life to the otherwise still landscape.

The theme was centered around tranquility and spaciousness — designed to make the room feel larger, calmer, and almost like waking up to a view that stretches beyond walls. The overall effect is soothing and expansive, offering a constant visual breath of fresh air.

A quiet transformation, this mural turns a blank wall into a window to the mountains.
